Their slogan is “small village big dreams” and their dream of being crowned Junior Champions of Dublin came through tonight as Clann Mhuire ran out worthy winners over Naomh Maur by 14 points in a sun kissed Parnell Park.

The final tally on the score board was not a true reflection of the game as the two sides battled hard providing an entertaining game of football before a sizeable crowd of spectators with the Parnell Park hallowed turf in sublime condition.

The difference between the two North County rivals was their finishing the Clann Mhuire forwards especially their full forward line of Oonagh Whyte, Kelly Morgan and Lisa Hutcheson where in superb form scoring between them an impressive 2-06 from play.

Clann Mhuire and Dublin star Carla Rowe also chipped in on the score board scoring an impressive 1-06 with 0-02 coming from frees.

Naomh Maur can be proud of the performances of Olivia Leonard, Molly Moran, Gemma Thorne and Naomi Clare who gave their all for the Rush club’s cause.

But the night belonged to the girls from The Naul and it was fitting that Clann Mhuire man Joe Keane, Chairman of Dublin LGFA presented the Wally Thompson Cup to his daughter Niamh, captain of the victorious Clann Mhuire team.
